Finding this website was not an accident.  If you were not already more successful than most people, it is unlikely that you would find this subject matter interesting.  You are different from most people and so are we.  Thinking and behaving differently and more effectively than average can reward us in a variety of ways.  But if we are not attentive to the right mix of things, we can end up financially successful, yet unsuccessful in other important areas of life.  There are too many multimillionaires who feel unfulfilled and that their lives are not in balance.  This website and the work we do is dedicated to those with the wisdom to know that a balanced and fulfilling life is possible.  You just need certain details and an action plan, specific to your needs and wants!

One of our favorite authors is Dr. Stephen R. Covey.  Years ago, Dr. Covey began pointing out that many people invest themselves in climbing the ladder of success, only to reach the top and discover that their ladder has been against the wrong wall.

So, how do smarter and more effective than average people so often find that great success in one area has cost them too dearly in others.  We all know or at least have seen or read about successful people who sacrifice their family and friends along their journey towards business and financial success.  Sometimes they have sacrificed their physical or emotional health to the point where they can't seem to really enjoy life, activities, travel and relationships.  Without balancing all of the most important aspects of life on purpose and on time, we end up with many regrets.  At the end of your life you will probably value relationships, experiences and non-financial achievements more than money.  A life with less regret, more fulfillment and greater balance equals true success.

If you are still reading this, you already have or soon will have a lot of money.  But, you are wise enough to know that greater fulfillment and happiness require a different mindset than what is required to simply earn a lot of money.

Simply stated, success in a given area requires the mindset, thinking, behavior, discipline and courage requisite to itself.  Here is an example: to be wildly successful in a particular field of endeavor such as the restaurant business, you must think about business details, issues and relationships at least somewhat differently than the person who chooses to succeed as a rock star or a baseball player.

The nuances, details, perceptions, creative thinking along with the talents and actions are specific to each endeavor.  Thus, there are many people who can become wildly successful as a singer, yet have no talent or skills for building, running, growing and selling a restaurant chain.  Even though being successful at each requires certain common characteristics.  The differences in required talent, details, actions, etc. are profound.

The right person (i.e. uncommon person) can become hugely successful as a restaurateur; yet lack what is needed to become great as a basketball player, singer or real estate developer.

The good news is that above average people tend to specialize in those areas that they are most passionate about.  So, if you're a great basketball player or singing star, you don't have to know diddly about the restaurant business to enjoy a world-class meal.  The fact is, you don't need to have any talent or skills as a chef to become wildly successful as a restaurateur!  The business acumen, skills and details essential to successfully running a restaurant are different from those details necessary to be a great cook.

We live in a world of vast specialization.  So, you can fly faster than the speed of sound, even though you don't have a clue about how to build a jet.  You don't even need to know how to communicate with the air traffic controller.  People who are more talented, knowledgeable, skilled, and dedicated than you at flying will help you successfully get where you want to be.  All of this is possible without you possessing any practical knowledge of the transportation industry.  By living interdependently, rather than independently, we're free to focus on our greatest passions, what brings us joy and fulfills us.

When it comes to living life to its fullest, the wisest and most effective people I know think and behave differently than most of the population.  They see their quality of life as transcendent over money and material things.  Their things and money do not hold them hostage.  Instead, they tend to view material things and money as tools to set them free.  Being free to pursue what brings you joy and fulfillment begins with your mindset.  How you choose to see yourself and your role in the world, business and life, largely determines how free, joyful and fulfilled you will be or will not be.

Do you really know what will bring you joy and fulfillment?  Can you articulate it in writing, right now?  Once written down, would you be willing to sign that paper along with a statement that declares that what is written is exactly what you want?  Now, how much time are you willing to dedicate to achieving what is written?  How much money will you spend to achieve it?  How much money must you give away to achieve it?

What if achieving freedom, joy, fulfillment and becoming who you really want to be requires that you let go of some of the people in your life?  Such freedom often requires that we let go of certain people, relationships and material holdings that we are emotionally attached to.  This is but a glimpse into the mindset and some of the actions that can help you become more free, balanced and fulfilled.

How you and those with influence in your life and business think and behave are the most common obstacles to achieving and sustaining more freedom, fulfillment and balanced success.  This website, the articles, white papers and courses offered through BSI provide what you need to know.  You are unlikely to read, see or hear such information from those who influence your thinking and behavior relating to money, business, career and relationships that does currently or could involve them.
